Social media is no longer an emerging playing field for building a brand and engaging consumers – it’s the playing field. Table stakes for any company that wants to identify, hear, and reach customers (and potential customers).
The problem, according to leading industry analyst Frost & Sullivan, is that companies are generally a step behind. “Brands and marketers are struggling to navigate the new environment,” the organization said in the report accompanying its Customer Value Leadership Award for social media suites in North America.
The report adds, “Social channels can seem an afterthought for many decision makers until it becomes a critical touch point in a crisis, or with an unfortunate headline-grabbing gaffe, or when poor reviews drive down traffic and public perception.”
Fortunately, there are solutions for brands seeking an integrated, holistic platform for managing – and making the most of – all social media activities. Which begs the question: who did Frost & Sullivan name as the winner of the award?

We agree with Frost & Sullivan’s assessment of current brand/customer interaction landscape (and not just because we were lucky enough to receive their award). The analyst’s view – that “brands need a more comprehensive approach to customer interactions – is at the center of everything we do.
We’re looking forward to accepting this award on December 3rd at Frost & Sullivan’s annual awards event in San Antonio, TX. The night will mark the second time in the past three years that we’ve won a Customer Value Leadership Award.
